I have a 97 900 2.0 SET with 144K. I have been having a recurring CEL - the only code is a P0300 (read by autozone) for a couple of months now. I have tried a few things (which I will list below) all of which I have carried out with reseting the code. The CEL comes back after a short amount of city driving.
1. Checked vacuum lines and while some warrant replacement (brittle) they seem to leak free, and are connected.
2. Cleaned/gapped the spark plugs. In my latest endeavor I installed new ones (BCPR7ES to 0.035)
3. Techron concentrate.
I am wondering where to go - FPR? Check fuel pressure (how??) DIC has never been replaced as far as I know. It takes about 4-5 seconds to start from cold which doesn't seem too bad. Driving seems a little on the low power side but I don't realize any real hesitation or obvious misfire. CEL comes on when I stress the engine a little - uphill or boosting. I also think I have a seal going in the turbo which is letting oil into the intake air path.
I've checked on this code on the forum and I think just about everybody lists it with other codes. This is the only one I have.
Thanks to all in advance. Drewski
