Almost the same thing. My gf's 9-3 started bucking. At first it was once, then a week later. It quickly accelerated in frequency to the point it was at least once per day, then constant. It all happened over a period of a week once it happened the second time.

My initial thought was fuel related or even clutch jumping (alternately slipping then grabbing).

In the interim, I tried fuel filter, plugs, and I forget what else. No CEL was occuring. On a whim, I tried swapping out the DIC with a brand new one I got off Ebay.

I figured even if it wasn't it, a spare is just good to have with these cars.

Problem solved!
