I would say it's possible, but not very practical. The unit is not very big and there is room behind the dash or glovebox if you wanted to locate it somewhere other than behind the kick panel. In my opinion the kick panel is the easiest location. The antenna connections on the stereo is just a plug (think RCA). The one supplied by the modulator is a standard US car connection so I needed the European car adapters (i.e. VW). Most auto installers, such as Best Buy have these in their installation garage. Rarely do they have them on the store shelf. Once the adapters are attached the modulator its plugged inline between back of the stereo and the antenna cable.

From the picture of the AudioVox it has a similar setup to my XM-Delphi unit. Power to the XM unit is provided by the modulator and this cable will not be long enough to stretch from the trunk to the front seats. Power to the XM unit is how the modulator knows when to block the signals from the car antenna. When the XM unit is on it blocks the antenna signals and feeds the XM signal on 87.9 or another selected station on the modulator. When it's off it allows signals from the antenna.

I've never looked at the antenna connection in the truck but would expect that it is different than what you have on the back of the radio. You may have to splice into the cable in the trunk.

The modulator requires a power source and you could tap into the antenna power in the trunk. This would allow it to turn on/off with the radio.
