I may get away with not doing this job anytime soon. Last Sunday I went over my PVC system (Old style system no oil collector) and I found one of my silicone 5/32 vacuum lines with a crease mark in it indicating it had been pinched. It was the PVC line with the check valve on it and it had been creased by the engine cover that snaps on and off at the dipstick. I corrected the situation and check the check valve. Last night I cleaned up under the car with brake cleaner and this morning after a 30 mile drive to work I did not smell oil on the converter as I have. It looks clean under neath. I will continue to watch this area for oil. I would not have thought that a pinch in that line would cause crankcase pressure considering the size of the other line coming off the valve cover nipple going to the input side of the turbo. I would have thought all of that pressure would be relieved by the other line 4 times the size of the 5/32 that was pinched. I am hopeful at this point no rear seal replacement is due anytime soon. Time will tell. Thank you for your help Swedecar and if you could shed any light on why the 5/32 line kinked would cause pressure in the system to push oil out the rear seal when you have the other large line also relieving pressure I would like to know. Maybe I am just too hopeful and it will rear its head sooner than later.
