A new clutch disk engages with the pedal closer to the floor. A worn clutch disk engages high and then won't engage at at all.
You can only have 3 kinds of hydraulic problems. A leak, air in the system or seal/cylinder failure. If a slave fails it will leak externally. The same goes for a hose. Only the master cylinder can fail without leaking.
There are lots of possible mechancal failures. C900s would wear out at the pivot between the pedal and the master push rod. Early 9000s had a problem with the sheet metal buckling where the master was mounted. A piece of the pressure plate can get wedged between the flywheel and disk.
I would bleed your system and then if that doesn't work I'd replace the master.
