I replaced the radiator fan low speed resistor using a resistor as per the instructions in previous posts. Now with the AC on, the high fan comes on every 10 seconds and turns on intermittently for 3 seconds bursts, which happened even before replacement. I noticed sometimes when I turn off the engine the fan stays on for about 5 seconds, which didn't happen before--so that is a good thing. I also shorted low and high fan speed relays (terminals 30 and 78) and they both work.
The issue is the engine heats up in the 90 degree weather to the point that everything under the hood is too hot to touch and I notice when in operation, the fan only comes on in short bursts when the AC is on and the low fan isn't on consistently. I replaced the coolant temperature sensor a few weeks ago because the in-dash temp gauge failed but now it is fine. Do I need to change the thermostat? Or do I have a problem with A/C compressor cycling?
