I agree with trying to clean it first. I have the T-5 engine with 189K miles, so the TB is not as complex as the T-7... but every 6 to a year I need to clean mine around the buttery fly plate. It seems to stick on start up and when the car is put in forward or reverse the engine will stumble & die (or at least almost die). I can get around that by trying to blip the gas first to try to unstick the plate.... but that gets annoying... so I clean it & the problem goes away, at lest for 6 moths to a year.
