One of my first guesses. I've even wondered if they forgot to install them or perhaps the oil rings at the factory. But I would have clouds of smoke when going downhill with the throttle up. I never see any blue smoke. Except when the first and second GT17 turbo went south. Particularly upon start up. I think the line leaked down when it was off. Once it burned off, nothing. And with the Mitsu turbo it never puffs ever. I think it slowly burns it off while running. In all fairness, the Mitsubishi is on the list of things that need rebuilding. I'm driving a classic 9/5 while the 9/3 gets some upgrades.
