Your leaning towards a summer performance tire (F1) as far as I know these are not all season tires. I'd highly recommend that route, and get some good snows if you need them otherwise the Viggen will be a crazy handful in the winter. With really good snows (I've only experience with Hakkas) the Viggen is truly amazing in the winter and will rival some 4x4s in grip while bettering almost all of them in handling and stopping!!

Back to summers as I cannot comment on all seasons, which I don't think belong on a car with the Viggen's potential, especially if you do not have LSD. You need traction and control with the Viggen's torque. Best tires I've used date, and by far, are the Michelin PS2s and I'm about to try the PSS (because I don't want to risk getting a worse tire and the PS2s no longer come in my 18 size and I LOVED them). I've had F1 GS-D3s for a while and they were pretty good....for a few months, until they started to wear. Then they got noisy and lost grip in the rain. Never as much control or grip as the PS2s nor as comfortable....the F1s were quite jarring. The worst tires I had were a Bridgestone Potenza but not sure which model it was other than being a summer performance tire.

Tires really make the car and in the Viggen's case, correct some of it's short comings. Hardware sold by site sponsors such as Genuine Saab can further enhance the Viggen's handling and control of power to where it becomes a pretty amazing performer. Like you, I'm not giving it up for a long time as the Rs4 has too many doors ad the S5 never came with the 'R'!!!! Beside them and M3s just cost too much to play with....
