The original theft alarm module on my 2000 9-3 is triggering intermittently and from reading here the typical issue is the batteries in the unit failing.
I have heard that replacing the batteries (from eEuro or other source) by soldering them into the unit often does not last as a solution. I checked with BBA Remanufacturing and they have a rebuilt replacement unit with lifetime warranty (while I own it) for about $125. Opinions? I had a good experience with BBA on the ABS control unit for this same car a few years back.
For either fix, any special steps involved for removing the unit and re-installing? Just disconnect the car battery and unplug the unit?
