Talladega is indeed just a trim package, but not a bad one.
"Common" failures: heated seats, headlight wipers, power antenna, ACC display, frozen rear brake calipers, leaky manual transmission input shaft seal. Ask for the car to be inspected, but verify some of the above yourself. I bought an "inspected" car from a Saab dealer that had most of the above wrong with it. My fault for trusting.
That doesn't sound like a bad price, esp. if you like the car. You might want to consider an extended warranty, since the factory one on that car expires at 50k. I paid $1200 for mine and in 18 months it's paid for about $900 in parts and labor. Money well spent.
I think you'll enjoy the car. Oh yeah, ask to see the service and warranty records on the car.
