Cold start problems [ TG, Dean ] Posted by NIck [Email] (#227) [Profile/Gallery] (more from NIck) on Mon, 4 Dec 2000 09:50:06 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My 98 NG900, with 40K, has a stall problem at the morning start-up [<25 degreees], particularly when shifting from Park to Reverse. The car ignites without problems, so battery is o.k., but stalls in between gears. Once warmed, the car will accelerate as ususal but changing gears will give a noticeable drop in rpm.
Per previous advice of TG and Dean, fuel injectors, plugs and low steering fluid were suspected. To date, I have added in a bottle of Lubro Moly injector cleaner and Lubro Moly Ventil cleaner [valve cleaner]. NGK 7's with 18K are still in, but were re-gapped within specifications, [I waiting for new plugs to arrive in the mail]. I have also topped off steering system with Pentosin. Yet, the stalling/hesitation problem continues.
Are there any other areas that I should inspect? Is there a idle control or a sensor that specifically monitors cold starts? Thanks in advance.
