The V6 does not have a DI cassette.
Inspect your ingnition cables. They should be clean and fully seated at the coil end, and on the plugs.
When you encounter problems such as this you need to eliminate posibilities, and so you need to look at things that are easy, inexpensive and known to deteriorate.
So make sure that you have proper plugs which are properly gapped. Your rear plugs are a difficult to get at, so pull the front ones and see how they look. If the front ones are in good shape, assume the same for the rears. If the front plugs need regapping or are fouled, replace all six.
The injectors need to be in good shape. You have a very high compression engine. Use a bottle of Techron Concentrate. It will clean you injectors and more.
Use good fuel. Switch to a different filling station.
Inpect vacumm hoses for split ends etc.
The throttle body may need to be cleaned. Get into it with a cloth and some solvent swab it clean while holding the throttle open. You do not need to spray majro amounts of carb cleaner into it.
Determine that the throttle body mounting fasteners are intact.
Check the battery. Top up with distilled water 2 or 3 times per year.
When was the timing belt last changed. Perhaps the timing is off by a small amount. Any major cam timing issues will lead to destruction of the engine.
Any knocking? Power of once started and warmed up? Gas mileage? Now many miles? Miles on plugs? City, highway, mixed driving? Climate? Cold weather starting issue only?
Yes the ECU could be bad, but you can't replace the ECU without checking the basics first.
