We just had this same problem. Think we've beat it. But dangit, I can't remember the part name. Somebody help me out.
Immediately after the air box, there is a Bosch plastic molded piece in the air supply line that has a small diode or some such electical part suspended in it. It measures air temp and humidity and then I think compensates for determining air / fuel mix. Some such sensor. Anyway, Saab mechanic suggested at our milage (100k), that their best guess for our problem (like your problem) may be to replace it. Not wanting to report back to the wife that I have no idea what's wrong, but car will continue to potentially strand you, I went for it.
$400 bucks later in parts and install, problem has not occurred since. However, I thought our problem may have been temperature related (hot days were the worst, especially after running errands and then turning off car for 30 minutes, then engine fluttered to a start like it wasn't getting enough fuel). Since it is now winter in Minnesota, I will not consider fix solved until we heat back up here again next June.
Sound like your situation?
Good luck.
