ok,
look where your spare tire is, you will see a screwdriver w/ a black handle sitting in the foam that is under the carpeting. Take that screw driver, and you will see you can pull out the steel shaft which fits in the black handle, and select which type of screwdriver head you want to use.
Now, look at the plastic cover on the left rear stereo speaker. You will see some "torx" screws holding this entire plastic cover on (torx looks like a 6 sided star). USe the screwdriver, with the torx screwdriver selected, to remove this plastic cover. DOn't forget to unscrew the large steel post onto which the trunk "privacy" cover snaps into (I'm talking about the carpet thing that covers your trunk area when you close the hatch so no one can see inside your trunk).
So, take out the 3 screws + the steel post. Lift up the rear side of the plastic cover, and then you can pull back the carpet lining of the trunk. Don't worry, its really stiff carpet but its very tough, don't be afraid to be hard on it. Look down behind the carpet, you will see a black cable with an L shaped connector at the end. It will tied in a loop, and held in place with a zip tie. Cut the zip tie. I would now plug in the cd player to the cable, and turn on the radio in the car, just to see if the cd player is being recognized (if you have some one standing at the rear of the car, be careful when you turn on the radio, that antena almost poked my dad's eye out when we installed it at night).
Ok, now if the cd player works, unplug it. Cut a hole in the carpet with a razor blade, in the shape of an "x". Make each slice about 2 inches long, don't worry the carpet will retain its shape. Pass the cord out through the slit.
Now, take the 2 steel plates which have the 2 black posts coming out of them. Snap off one of the plate's perforated sections, to make it shorter. DO this with a pair of pliers (careful, the edges are sharp).
Now, place the the cd player, upright, in the position you want (you should already have attached the "L brackets' to the cd player.). With a pointed knife/razor, cut a slit where the L brackets hole's are. Now, take the metal part of that black screwdriver you used, and stick them in the hole. Keeping the steel rod in the hole so you can see where the hole is, remove the cd plaer. USe the steel rod to enlarge the holes. Place the steel plates under the carpet (the one thats you made shorter goes towards the rear of the car) and pass the posts through the carpet. Put the cd player in place, tighten it down, plug it in, and voila. all set.
test the cd player, and then close everything up and screw the speaker cover back down..
All set.
