I just wanted a custom ECU. The differance in the custom ECU is that it has a higher boost pressure than the maptun set up. I wanted to experiment and see if I could get the additional Hp/torque without changing the stock turbo. Remember I'm just a guy trying to have fun on my car. I thought I might be able to increase my pleasure in driving and from what I learn share with other. I also find it extremely frustrating to see how much these companies charge people for there products. Most of these products are overpriced and could be made at cost for much le$$. Why not make these products if I have the resources and sell them at cost to other local Saabers. An example of this is the Abbott Steering Rack Brace. This a 293 pound product in US figures that over $350 but it can be made with steel for under $30. Who would not want that? Now maptun is safer and cheeper than the Abbott products but I was willing to experiment and push the limits. I still need to do the alot of additional work still to make sure everything is ok as Johnny pointed out in the post above but so far everything is ok.
