Boy, am I lucky. My clutch cable (fourth one on my 94 SEt - 87k) unexpectedly broke at a red light last night catapulting me several feet out into a busy four lane intersection. Narrowly avoided collision with a car going 60-65 mph. I got my foot on the brake quickly. This is the first one that actually BROKE on me.

Since my local Saab mechanic can't get to it for a couple of weeks, I got the car in my garage and was looking at my Haynes manual and it does not look too difficult. Some questions for those who have accomplished this...

I understand you must remove battery, lower dash, ICE (fusebox)...anything else, is all this necessary? Any installation tips? This is probably something I must do every year or so as part of PM, there was no warning on this one at all. Cable will be here tomorrow UPS.
