I treat this as a real benefit. I never have to remember to turn my headlights/taillights on at dusk and with the lights on all the time my tail lights are also on giving any following vehicles an indication that I am there should there be smog or fog! In over 3 years of driving my 1996 900S I have never replaced a tail light and replaced both headlights only once. I think this is a very cheap insurance that oncoming traffic can see me. Statistics in the inter-city bus industry have proved that DRLs reduce accidents and I'm sure having the rear lights on as well adds a bit of warning - leave that DRL fuse in and use what the engineers at Saab gave you - after all you are driving a Saab aren't you!
