Success!!
Yesterday, I successfully changed the front brake pads (90,084 miles).
A relatively easy job. Of course, I did read my Haynes manual and the many post on this site. Thanks everyone. Besides, having done the rears last November, I figured the fronts couldn't be any more difficult. And that was an accurate presumption.
NOTE: The hex (allen) wrench required to remove the guide bolts is 7mm. Not 8mm, as indicated by some on this site and an independent Saab-shop. Luckily, a NAPA shop was opened for a 7mm is not a common size at retail shops and/or in combo sets.
Just thought I'd let you all know -- especially those who are thinking of tackling the job themselves.
