Strange sounds from Cruise control now... Posted by aizzo [Email] (#1220) [Profile/Gallery] (more from aizzo) on Wed, 14 Jan 2004 21:14:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
As you maybe aware, I'm trying to diagnose a faulty cruise control. Tonight on my way home from work I was playing around with setting and clearing the crusie control and I noticed that when I turn it on and set it (using the button at the end of the stalk) their is a "clicking" noise that sounds like it is coming from behind the glove box. The car doesn't hold speed, but the "clicking" continues sporadically until I cancel the cruise (either by touching the brake peddle or turning the cruise off). As soon as the cruise is cancelled I can hear a quick burst of clicks coming from behind the glove box that lasts for about a second.
Now, I have no idea how cruise controls work, but does this symptom mean anything to anybody? I'm still trying to make my way through the cruise control diags check list...
Thanks again -
Alan
