Switched to Synthetic now leak!

I have a '98 900S with 53k. I switched to synthetic to try and avoid any sludge issues. I put a slovent in when it still had dino oil and ran it for 500 miles. Then I put Mobil 0 w 40 in for 1k,drained, replaced filter and did another 1k. Then drained, new filter and was all set to not change it for 8k. But I just noticed a leak near the front of the motor. It looks like either the crankshaft pully(lowest pully) or oil pan gasket. It if wet in that region and hard to pinpoint. AHHHHHH! It was tight as a drum before I switched. I feel like I should have pulled the valve cover and looked inside and then determined to switch or not.
The leak is wetting the bottom of the oil pan, dripping onto the inner CV boot. I have not really been able to quantify how much I am leaking. I just started checking this out.
I was thinking of switching to a half and half blend and maybe an addative to reduce the leak.
Any thoughts?
