I am back in D.C. after some time abroad working. I am in town only since Memorial Day, and my car is hit while parked by who knows in the middle of the night. The good news is that it wont work against me in future premiums because it is considered an uninsured driver. If you see a Ford Excursion missing a tail light, tell them I have it. Unfortunately, USAA wants to total out the car because of the prohibitive cost of a fender and convertible piston. I may try to source parts myself, but I may be fighting a losing battle. Also, is Frank Hum still around? He was keeping an SPG kit under his porch that I lost tabs on. If I can rehab the car, I would like to install the kit at the same time. Hopefully, I can have it ready by Saabtoberfest. Enough of my boo-hoo stuff. I just want to keep the car for the long haul considering all of the blood sweat, cash, and tears that have gone into Inga. I know if I do end up getting rid of it, a good body man could probably hammer out the damage and find a new piston. He would also be getting the 2 month old Bilstien HD's that I put in the car. I think I have the best body shop that is willing to work with what I can get in a settlement from my insurance, and is willing for me to do some of the prep work (removing trim, etc.) to save money.

later,

Dan Purvis
