andy, listen to these guys...
get a new can of quality wax
wash and dry the car
with a damp microfiober pad apply the wax sparringly
do two sections at a time (quaterpanel/front door)
then go back and remove wax from quaterpanel
then wax back door, then remove wax from front door
basically I am saying don't leave the wax on the car for more then 5/10 min. and never wax in the sun (you have to be quick and know what your doing)
try to apply the wax and remove the wax using back and forth motions over circular motions (like when you polish you shoes)
so, I apply and remove the wax as described, I do not apply a lot of pressure when removing just looking to get the haze and bulk of the wax off, then orbital buffer ($20 at walmart) microfiber or wool pad for bringing out the luster, do not press down on the buffer let it do the work, it is quick and easy.
one last step, go over the car with a buffing towel to get in the crevices and crannies were the buffer can't to remove any remaining wax.
let us know how all this advice worked?
good luck...
