I think that Saab should present its cars as the modern version of a car a people can be passionate about.
This means grown-ups engaging in guilty driving pleasures, knowing the car can handle it with aplomb.
This means comfortable kids/rear passengers (esp. on the 95) This means cool "extra" features like night panel, ac'd glove box - trick cupholder, etc.
This means smugness on the $avings, at the dealer and at the pump. This means knowing that you can drop a mustang on the freeway, while putting out emissions like an econobox.
How about a commerical actually showing the safety instead of talking about it? That moose dummy just begs for a spot.
As Scott and jc have pointed out - the turbo/fun thing is of primary importance.
I think that there HAS to be a telegenic way of portraying that feeling of hitting the gas at 70, and just knowing whoever's behind you is going "that the hell was THAT?"
In fact, I think "what the hell was THAT?.... it was a Saab" should be company tag line... morph the ordinary meaning of the phrase to tie in historical achievments of the mark.
