the brake padel was a hydraulic valve, pressure came from a pump driven from a belt on the engine, all you had to do was touch it,infact the car had a gauge that told you in how many feet you had to stop.the front inboard brakes were massive, the pads had aluminium cooling fins on the back.everything was run off this pump, suspension, sterring, shifting, clutch and the brakes.no springs or shocks.you could adjust the car height too and it was self leveling.there was a small lever in the lower left foot well to adjust the height.this is also how you changed the tire, you put the car in "high" then stuck this Y shaped thing underneath it,then set the car to low,the car would stop on this jack and just pull the wheels off the ground.thats just a small list of some of the things this car had.mine also had big cibie headlights and the inboard ones turned with the steering wheel.the SM model was out of this world,6 head lights and a v6 maserati engine.citroen owned maserati for a few years.the maserati mereck had the same dash as the SM and same engine.
