try a Hungarian wine called Bikaver Egri (pronounced BEEkavair EGGry) or Egri Bikaver (Hungarian is like Latin, word order is sometimes irrelevent) Also known as "bulls blood". It has a strong flavor and a pleasant aftertaste. Egri means it's from the Eger region.
A great Hungarian dessert wine is Tokaji Aszu (TOKE-eye-eee UHsou). It's like a Sauterne only better.
Hungarian wines are Eastern Europe's best kept secret. Marie Antoinette called Tokaji "the wine of kings and the king of wines". A wine to lose your head over.
