for a long time. When you have a good mech and can do some stuff yourself they are cheap to repair and very reliable. Mine's an '88 so I don't have to deal with ABS/SRS to boot. My car may not be as safe as new cars but I think that it is safe enough and I'm and alert driver and it has enough comforts for me. I find all the bells and whistles of new cars kind of ridiculous and unnecessary. I'm less likely to have a chip fail that shuts off my engine and leaves my stranded.

Work that's been done to my car:

'91T low miles engine.
Rebuilt tranny with big pinion.
Steer rack.
Front wheel bearings.
brake master, clutch.
Indiglo gauges.
Extra heat vent for right driving hand( I don't know why these car don't have one already?
Ronal RTs with spacers and heavy load springsin rear for camping/hauling.
Koni Adjustable Shocks.
Deep cycle Optima Battery.
$3200.00 stereo system.
Nice sheepskins.
Hood scoop for ram air set-up. Ducting not hooked up yet.
Front control Arms.
FPR.

Future plans:

Maybe Direct Ignition when my distributor dies.
Window tinting.
Floor mats.
Larger FPR with rebuilt APC for more power.
Larger exhaust.
Rear wheel bearing.
Brake pads and rotors.
Airflow kit.
Paint job.
Finish tubing for Ram Air.
Headliner.
Cup holders.
Dash cracks.
Shelf carpet.
Paint job.

The big ticket items are done so now I can work on the smaller fun stuff.
I really love these cars.

Happy Saabing

Cheers, KB.
