I know that there are a great number of people in this world that don't name their cars, consider them a certain gender, so on and so forth, but I'm only going to speak from my own perspective. In regard to the gender of the car, I'm really not the one that decides if it is going to be male or female. Over a certain period of time, the car will portray certain characteristics that come across to me as either masculine or feminine. Sometimes you can tell just by looking at a car, or you may have to drive it for quite some time to determine the actual gender. I know a lot of people will be rolling their eyes at this one, but different cars (especially Saabs) have a feeling about them that comes across as gender-specific. Now, on to the naming part. I am a die-hard Saab nut. I've never owned anything but a Saab, and quite frankly, I have no intention of ever owning anything else. My lifestyle, needs, etc. don't demand a 15-passenger van, off-road vehicle, or other means of transportation. I have always lived, breathed, and loved Saab. My Saab is a member of the family, no different than a pet. I like to consider myself to have a personal connection with my car, and yes, I talk to it often. It always listens and rarely argues. Every night when I get home, I make a point to thank her for her service and wish her a good night. In the mornings, I greet her just as I would any person that I see on a daily basis. When she starts acting up, I do make attempts to calm her down, ask that she makes it to a good stopping place, or whatever the case may be. I confide in my car, as she provides a great service to me. She gives me a source of transportation, a smile on my face, and a hobby that few are ever afforded to pursue and explore. My Saab is very much a part of me and my life. I do realize that every Saab on this earth is an inanimate object that has no feelings. That doesn't mean I can't have feelings for my Saab, though. I don't expect everyone to understand this, nor do I expect everyone to consider themselves as "extreme" as I. Hopefully this addresses your question(s). Any feedback or comments are certainly appreciated and welcome. Drive safely, and KEEP ON SAABING!!!
