How do you come to that conclusion? Allowing the engine sufficient time to get the oil circulating is all the warm up time you need (about 30-60 seconds). Afterwards, as long as you take it easy until the engine is in the normal operating temperature range, there shouldn't be any problems. The car warms up much faster this way. It's starting the engine and immediately driving is what inflicts the most damage.
