will hold up in an accident. They're called accidents because you don't mean them to happen. A car coming from another lane hitting you head on can be a tad traumatic. Or suppose that car were hitting a moose? Several of the same failures happen, most notably the roof collapse.
Everyone can drive what they want, but there is no excuse for a carmaker to build a car that folds up like that. The 1968 VW Beetle I had that had a angled head-on with a Volvo 240 at 30 mph came out better than that Isuzu.
