When I was dating my wife, I had a Viggen Convt and my old 88 SPG, both sticks. She had an old Mitsubishi automatic. After we were married, I wanted her to learn the stick because I didn't want to get another car. One night I took her out. She couldn't get the concept. When we got home she started crying. Well, I made up my mind that I'm not going to force her to learn something that she really doesn't want to. Also, I want her to be safe and didn't want her to get into an accident. Not long after that, she became pregnant and I didn't want her driving her old car to work without A/C in the hot summer. So, I traded in my viggen for a brand new Toyota Sienna and got rid of the Mitsubishi. I figured, my wife is more important than my car. Soon after that, my SPG blew up, so I had to get another car. Man I really wanted a Subaru WRX STI. But knowing it was a stick, I felt that it just was going to be another problem in the future. So, I got smart and bought a new Honda 4 door V6 automatic. After having the baby, my wife went back to nursing school and she took my Honda. I didn't want to put a lot of miles on my Sienna, so I rebuilt my SPG and drive that now as my daily driver. I made a deal with my dad to let him drive my Sienna if he pays for the gas and insurance. Now I recently picked up a sweet 96 9000 Aero that I'm building up to Stage 4. So now I have 2 new automatics, and 2 sticks just for me. So in the end, everything worked out for the better. So, I think that God honors a man who honors him marriage and puts this wife first before his things.
