This is a very broad subject and no single supplement or diet change will work miracles. Basically, there are many things that one can do to improve general health and that will improve immunity. But some have favourable genetics and some don't. Everything is mediated by enzymes and these seem to always have metals in them. So getting trace metals is important and one of the least expensive interventions that one can make. Please note that many/most vitamins are very lame and only have a few things to look impressive. As a rule, the more that a vitamin is promoted as a brand, the worse it will be. Same goes for calcium supplements. You do not need calcium for bone heath, but calcium, magnesium, copper, boron, vitamin D and other things. The advertised brands are making people think that they are doing the right thing... but these are harmful pacifiers.

And as one ages, one's hormone levels decline. So it was thought; that age led to declining hormones. But progressive doctors are now saying that declining hormone levels cause aging. And there is a lot of truth in that. HRT is very valuable for men and women... despite whatever negative things that you have heard about. The problems reported 3?4 years ago with HRT for women was with premarin (PREgnantMARESurINe), estrogen from pregnant mares and progestins, synthetic but not the same as natural progesterone. These things caused a lot of problems and because of that HRT got a bad rap. But these were things that do not belong in the human body. HRT with bio-identical hormones do not create problems and can improve heath and reverse many signs of aging.

Today we do not have a heath care system; we have a disease management system. The system does not promote caring for your health. You need to spend a lot of time learning and finding out how you can improve you health and take measures to avoid or reduce the needs for disease management. This can be expensive, but it is an investment that can pay off with cost avoidance of needing drugs or other disease management costs.

Such measures are expensive and you can't get your disease management insurance to pay for it. Many will not do anything because it costs money. Some will actually spend more on improving their health than on Saab performance mods! Your health is worth more than anything else. If you are in poor health, you cannot enjoy wealth or much of anything.

Folks need a change in mind set. Instead of 5-10 minutes with a doctor dealing with a disease issue (high cholesterol, high blood pressure, obesity, high blood sugar etc), some otherwise completely healthy people will spend a hour talking to an age management specialist. Insurance will not pay, because it is not medically necessary. If you don't have a disease, they do not pay. And they will not contribute to your efforts to avoid disease conditions. You are mostly on your own and there are no good guides.

So if the costs of heath management seem too expensive, then thing of these as an investment with a future payout.

I study and read about health maintenance issues more than Saabs.
