We have On-star in our 07 Outlook. It has been great. While traveling On-star found us restaurants and hotel rooms, mapped out our trip, changed our routing when we changed our mind and decided to take a side trip. Whenever we get lost in a city, On-star helps us find our way without us having to stop the car and look at maps or fiddle with a GPS. My nephew was hit from behind in his Blazer, the air bags did not deploy but On-Star called and sent help which to this day we are thankful. On-star interfaces with our radio and the air condition fan so that we hear the message clearly. In addition our insurance gives us a 10% discount which pays for some of the cost of On-star. If you take care of your car with proper preventive maintenance, synthetic oil, change pulleys, timing and serpentine belts etc, then why for heaves sake would you not take care of yourself and go without this service and protection for you and your family. If you have On-star just push the button, the staff is friendly, courteous and helpful. And I do not work for On-star, but I am a satisfied customer.
