If deal is dead, what to do... Posted by davecl [Email] (#1994) [Profile/Gallery] (more from davecl) on Tue, 24 Nov 2009 11:36:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Let's assume for a moment that the Saab deal is truly dead and there is no more Saab. As a Saab owner, what will you do? I have a '94 900S and a 2003 9-5 Aero. The 900S is running out its string and has no value anyway, so I don't worry about that. A couple more years out if it is fine.
The 2003 has 81K on it and is in perfect shape. Assuming I can keep getting parts and the great Indies I know keep working on Saabs, I'll certainly keep this one another 3-4 years. At that point it will be worth around...guessing...$2,000. I'll probably sell it to a Saab fanatic or some college kid. So this won't have much financial impact on me and I keep getting great Saab miles for a few more years.
But then I have to find another car, and that will be hard. Nothing appeals to me as much as a 9-5 and it will be pretty miserable if that's not a choice I can make.
