Country's worst drivers – Washington, DC?

I’m a recent transplant to Washington, DC and so far people here seem to be the worst drivers I have ever encountered. I’m in the city, so I can’t speak to VA or MD too much yet, but DC itself is appalling! I moved down from New York City, not exactly known as the capital of friendly driving, but at least people are fairly on top of things and it works pretty well once you know the system. I’ve also spent plenty of time driving in other places with unpleasant traffic like LA, the bay area, Philly, NJ, etc. and never felt the need to complain
People here however seem to do the darndest things. There’s the near zero use of indicators even for making left turns at intersections, people do u-turns at shockingly inappropriate times in busy streets, and people just seem to stop in the middle of a traffic lane, I guess to drop someone off or who knows what – no indicating, flasher, or anything, they just stop even when there’s somewhere a lot more reasonable to pull over nearby. People have no problem blocking alley ways or driveways while they go into a store or something. Unlike New York, the taxi drivers here also seem totally incompetent, driving slow, weaving around lanes constantly, and the aforementioned u-turns. Bikes are always riding on the sidewalk too, which is huge hazard to pedestrians and driver.
Sorry to vent, but this has been driving me crazy! Anyone else have thoughts on where the worst drivers are, or driving in DC in general?
