I think it is very suitable for a base engine, perhaps they can crank the boost up a bit, but the Mini 1.6 is really an excellent and very advanced engine. Quite a coup for SAAB to get access to it. I wonder if they might use a 260 HP 2l for the "Aero" engine. BMW also has some nice 2l engines, and perhaps they did not really talk about the 2L turbo 4 as it is rumored to be part of the next 3 series line. It would have to be adapted for transverse install of course.
