Dumb email etiquette question

Not sure if I'm being unreasonable here, but it really ticks me off when somebody sends me an email that just says "Thanks". Mainly talking about work stuff here when there is some correspondence back and forth on a subject. Say somebody asks me to sign off on an electronic schedule, I do it and email them to let them know it's done - almost always I get an email back that just says "Thanks". Seems like it's a waste of everybody's time and really not necessary. I would appreciate a word of thanks if I go out of my way to help somebody, but if it's just providing a simple piece of requested information, it seems totally pointless.
Do you think all my colleagues think I'm rude for not thanking them, or am I right not to needlessly clog up email boxes?
And yes I know, if that's all I have to worry about at work, I'm doing pretty well!
