I agree, but... Posted by Snowmobile [Email] (#686) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Snowmobile) on Mon, 14 May 2012 16:01:04 In Reply to: Each has its own market, Tim, Mon, 14 May 2012 11:41:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
the NG9-5 is a lot bigger than the old 9-5 (even if it doesn't drive big, it is big)... and it didn't come in a wagon... A lot of og9-5 drivers (myself included) felt the NG9-5 was bigger than we'd like. I think a new 9-3 would appeal more to more Saab enthusiasts, and lets face it, at this point, they're the only ones who are going to take the risk + buy the cars... it's tough to win in the marketplace on a value proposition alone - the market is very competitive. Imho, that's (in part) why the NG9-5 was inadequately successful. I felt it was a big business risk to hope to carry the company liquidity based on that car... too bad it didn't do better though... the 9-4x imho held more promise, if only it could have gotten more off the ground!
If a new buyer had the financial resources to refocus purely on a new 9-3, to pull back in the die-hards + create a new generation of die-hards, I think that is the best option at this point... GM has pretty much killed all other options anyway... a tough road now, that's for sure!
