I'll have to post some pics of it..its still hanging in the garage
getting beat up..
I basically found the picture of the Griffin on line. This is the basic black Griffin on a white background.
With my ink-jet instead of printing it on an 8x11 I chose "poster" and it split it centered across 4 8x11s. I used a heavier stock paper.
I then taped the 4 pieces together lining and overlapping the edge to connect the 4 quadrants of the Griffin.
Using an exact-o-knife I cut out the solid black portions of the Griffin.
Every so often I left a thin portion of the black to keep it connected to the white (else it fall off the white when done). I actually curved the portions trying to make it look like feathers/hair? (this was the portion I recall that the family looked at me like I was crazy).
To paint I used masking or duct tape rolled to be double sided behind it to
hold the middle and portions down. Tape on the sides. And then a lot of newspaper taped around it to keep the hood liner from over spray. A towel
on the engine to not get paint. Used engine paint. Family thought it was cool and understood then.
Sadly I cannot think of any other car logo I would do this for. Good times with my Saabs.
