I'll go with standard sticks and probably do pre-built trusses, some in a scissor-truss design to get the ceiling a bit taller on the one side.
I'm tempted to do a bit more along the post and beam method, just to get a bunch more open space up above for storage, etc. on the non-lift side. I will have to see what the costs end up looking like with the different methods.
I'll do much of the hammer-swinging, so the costs will be reduced over just paying someone to do it. I'm leaning towards having someone do the concrete slab, since I haven't done too much with concrete. (I've only poured about ten yards for a driveway at my brother's place.)
I will certainly keep the community posted on the process and final product.
