I bought a full set of appliances (kitchen and laundry) from Sears for a rental house in another city. We set up delivery for a day we would be there, and we made sure that the guy at the store made a note in the delivery order that they should call my cell phone, not my home phone. It should have been obvious. My home address was in one state, and the delivery address was 1500 miles away. Well, you can imagine how that went. No, actually, it went worse. There were problems with scheduling the delivery, and so we had to talk on the phone lots, and they actually called the wrong number seven times. Fortunately my daughter could get messages off our home phone and let us know they called, or I would just call them to ask if there was progress being made. Each time I talked with them, I had them make a notation in my record that they should call my cell, and they assured me that they would.
When you call, they ask you to put in your home phone, so that's the one they use. When you buy something, they want your home phone, not your cell phone.
I won't be sad to see them go, either. You can't run a business like that and survive.
