The General Altimax Arctic are pretty toothy and were fine last winter on my 9K. Only put about 4K on them and while they are only Q-rated (99 mph), they are OK for most driving. If I did a lot of higher speed highway in the winter I'd go with something else, but for under $300 a set from Tire Rack they do the job for the amount of miles I put on them.
I know that the various tests show the Michelin Ice and Blizzaks test better, and I actually prefer Nokian WRs, but here in hilly NH and on numerous ski days the Generals never let me down.
