Though unlikely to be the same on a 9000 as a 9-5, remember that an O2 sensor is an electrical component, and hence is subject to "bad connection syndrome"... In the case of a 9-5, it is a junction in the wiring harness for the O2 sensor that goes bad over time. Sometimes, replacing the sensor makes it work better for a while (ie the old one's signal was getting a little weaker, and resistance in the bad junction pushed it over the edge), but several months or a year later, it throws a code again with the new sensor (even though the sensor is perfectly good).
I know the 9k is a different car, but I would check the integrity of all the wiring, unplug the o2 sensor connector, spray contacts with contact cleaner, and reconnect. It is quite possible that MI-Roger is correct re the problem, but even so, that would be my first step.
