Semi-autonomous driving (i.e. Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane-Keeping Assist) are useful for reducing driver fatigue on long drives and keeping vehicle speed down to avoid tickets. The way Tesla called it ("autopilot") and the way fanboys bought into how autonomous/automatic it is, that is absurd and tragic.
For what it's worth, I have found ACC, LKA and "collision mitigation" (i.e. braking when it can) on my Acura MDX quite helpful for trips lasting hours. I used to get very tired from driving after an hour or two, but now can go 3-4 hours straight no problem. Haven't tried longer than that yet. The combo also helped me avoid speeding tickets; if left to my own driving, it's just too easy for the car to reach triple digits speed as it's just too quiet and smooth inside at high speed to notice how fast it's going.
