Fixing my deck question Posted by adl6009 [Email] (#2526) [Profile/Gallery] (more from adl6009) on Mon, 8 Jun 2020 16:15:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 5 foot square deck. It's not big, just for getting out the back door and 3 steps down to ground level. I found some rot at the corner and found the frame is shot on both boards of the frame. Can I cut out the corner, say between the stringers to the right, and about the same distance on the other side. Replace that removed corner with fresh wood, then sister a piece to act as a band aid at the cut to join the new piece to the existing frame. Do you know what I mean? Instead of replacing 2 whole boards just half of each one. I don't do a lot of this stuff so I really don't know if this will work.
Thanks
