I posted this as a reply to another message farther down, but I think it is somethign that might be interesting to discuss a bit.. I said about the recent issues with the link to the private Saab media site:
...."lack" of pictures shows a lack of internet savvy. One of the "things" that tweaks me about Saab marketing, and has for quite some time, is the limited availability of pictures on their website, and then lo and behold there is that link (I b'marked it) that has a gazzilion pictures, but we public aren't supposed to see them... ?? Huh.. what sense does this make? Sure they want the media to have interesting pictures to look at and include with their publications, but doesn't the potential buyer also have as much need to browse reams of great pics? As an Internet geek it seems so out of place to not have every marketing picture Saab ever took on a web server, for any potential Saab owner of interested party to look at...... heaven forbid that people display pictures of Saabs... Letters to Saab on subject ends up "who knows where".. So, if you are reading this Saab, please, just put your picture archive in a public place that allows the public to have access without sneaking around... sheessh.. I mean trade secrets need to be protected, but these are pictures, imag4es designed for marketing, and jeezz, ya'd think Saab would WANT people looking... ok.. i'm done now, and yes I feel much better, thank you!"
which begs the question of why they don't have reams of pictures available on the net? Perhaps I am missing something about marketing?
