Ranting.
Now that is seems virtually every manufacturer (incl. Saab) uses this ugly glass, I have to ask: Why? I obviously obscures some percent of the usable glass for visibility, and IMHO is aesthetically horrid/cheap looking. Is it supposed to "soften" the look where body meets glass, or what? Anyone know for sure? Me, I'd like to go back to the plain, all-clear glass - are you listening, Saab (or am I all alone on this)?
Call me biased, but speaking of glass/visibility I've yet to drive a car w/ better visibility than my old 900, even at the expence of being, gasp, q*rky. In contrast, the "Think Different/Cab-Forward/blah blah/Toot our own horn a lot" Dodge Intrepid I rented for the month of June (active duty) was a death-trap... a silly, nearly flat piece of glass practically lying parallel to the ground, A-pillar very obstructive was a nighmare to drive (to say nothing of the rest of the vehicle and handling - like driving with one's fingers injected w/ novacaine/lidocaine). Yeck.
Done ranting.
