You'd think they'd share the Quattro with VW, but Audi kept if for themselves. I don't remember all the details I read, but 4Motion (which just might be from Haldex) has a much more fwd bias than the Quattro.
In one way, this makes some sense as Audi is positioned against BMW, a driver's car with sporting capabilities, and VW is positioned up against Mercedes Benz, more of an upscale cuiser. The two different AWD systems should give decidedly different handling characteristics.
But here's one from the "I can't figure this out" department. The Audi TT uses 4Motion, but calls it Quattro. I haven't found out why, but it might be because of packaging the system in the limited space of the TT.
