I travel from here in Chgo. to Acadia and around Maine Coast about every other year. I almost always go via Detroit-Toronto-Montreal. I then vear thru Sherbrooke and cross into Maine thru Coburn Gore. It all travels very quickly, I think Canadiens treat 100KPH as 100 MPH!! If you don't weave about lane wise, the mounties seem to let you alone. Also construction is handled much better than US. Tolls are non-existant except for the Detroit to Windsor bridge/tunnels unlike all the fees paid thru Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Yuck, etc. A great pleasant trip is thru Vermont, New Hampshire and along the Seaway thru New Yuck, but is costly in mileage and time. I crossed into Ontario at Niagara, and also at Gananoque, Ontario. Good luck with your trip. Wish I was heading your way!!
