The American Ford company which owns the Volvo and Landrover cars - will be assembling them in Russia. This has been announced by the Izvestian newspaper. The company is now building an assembly factory near St. Petersburg. A serial production of the cars will begin only in the second half of next year. A test consignment of the "Ford Focus" - including from 200 to 500 cars - will come out at the beginning of the year and they will have a trial run in Russia's conditions. And only in two or three years the factory will be working to full capacity and putting out 2500 cars a year.
